Meet the Directors

 

David Mangan, Managing Director
Dave lives in Suffolk with his 4 children. Since moving from Essex to Suffolk around 7 years ago, Dave and his children have settled into country living and are members of Framlingham Community Baptist Church and active within local communities and supports aid work in Africa. David plays football locally (Framlingham Town & Sporting ’87) although now restricted to 5 a side due to age and attempts playing golf around East Anglia.

 

David is our Construction & Engineering expert having in excess of 15 years working for both regional specialists, Morgan Law and International Construction Brokers Oval - working in their Construction hub in London.

 

David has previously advised and consulted into several trade associations & confederations, assisting members with insurance related matters and issues. His main areas of expertise are Roofing, Scaffolding, Demolition & Waste Removal, Groundwork & Civil Engineering – “I am blessed to have been able to work in an industry as diverse as construction, and assist clients and companies with their insurance arrangements. Thankfully I have had some great teachers and mentors in my early career which honed my skills and knowledge of the construction industry and Liability insurance in particular; which has benefitted many construction companies and contractors over the years

Robert Allinson, Company Director (Construction & SME)
Rob moved to Suffolk from the midlands in 2000 with his soon to be wife. Since marrying in 2002 he now has 3 children, two girls and a boy.

 

“In my time working in commercial insurance I believe there is a gap in the market for a broker who genuinely cares for their clients. I want to grow a brokerage that focuses very heavily on client satisfaction regardless of premium spend. I believe that a client paying £500 is just as important as one paying £50,000”.

 

Rob had been part of a successful New Business focused team at Morgan Law and more recently moved to manage accounts for a large national broker. This provided Rob with skills and in depth knowledge of a host of products for SME & large corporate clients alike. Rob’s specialisim is general commercial and combined risks including manufacturing, motor trade and construction.

 

Rob has over the past 2 years partnered with a national bank assisting their business clients with insurance solutions and sound claims advice across East anglia and Cambridge.

Paul Rowland, Consultant Director (Bond & Surety specialist)
Paul lives in Suffolk with his Wife and two young children.

As a qualified and experienced Rugby coach and referee he has successfully mentored a number of age groups to become County, Eastern Counties Regional and National Cup, Festival and League champions and finalists with a large number of players winning selection to the Northampton Saints coaching programmes. While maintaining a team spirit founded upon an ethos of being fully inclusive of all abilities for his players he was elected Youth & Junior Chairperson at two Suffolk Clubs and at the latter oversaw a rapid programme of development and growth for the local community while forging close links with a number of Premiership Clubs and businesses to support the club's families.

Paul is a highly driven Broker and Client Advocate who holds a BA (Hons) degree in History and Law from Lancaster University. Paul is an accredited Lloyds of London broker and holds the ISO 9001 certification for excellent corporate compliance and governance. In addition, he has been awarded an MCIM from the Chartered Institute of Marketing after independent assessment of a decade of his work at an operational and senior management level.
Paul has an in-depth knowledge of insurance products and underwriting markets with a proven ability to expand upon all existing and new relationships by creating close ties between colleagues, customers and providers through the provision of a dynamic and personal sales and relationship experience.

He has extensive working experience within the specialist fields of Trade Finance, Trade Credit, Surety and Political Risk and has published articles in Business Money, Credit Control Risk Journal, Insurance Times & Post Weekly.

Jean Knott, Administration Manager

 

Jean joined the team at Liability and General last year to assist with the administration and office management side of the business, moving from a large International wine import/export company in Thurrock, Essex.

 

Since joining the team, Jean has shown tremendous skills in the daily operations of the business, releasing David and Rob from the burdens of paperwork to focus firmly on their clients and the sales team.

Ben Catton, Trainee Broker & Business Developer

 

Ben is a local lad, living in historic Castle town of Framlingham, where he was raised and schooled. He has played football for the local teams including Framlingham Town from the under 10’s to under 18’s and now plys his trade at Stonham Aspal F.C

 

He joined the sales team at Liability and General, after showing his enthusiasm to be involved in a young dynamic company and has excelled in his first year of trading.

 

Ben concentrates on our specialist area of construction & tradesmen, acquiring a depth of knowledge in this sector which compliments is personable approach and attitude to his clients.

Connor Bennett, Trainee Broker & Business Developer

 

Connor our newest member of the team and, like Ben is another local lad, living in the local town of Framlingham and playing for Framlingham Town & Stonham Aspal FC – not that the similarities to Ben stop there!

 

Connor was keen to join his lifelong friend Ben at Liability & General and show us his abilities to work hard and learn the intricacies of insurance and construction.

 

Connor focuses on local business in and around East Anglia building a strong bond with communities and businesses to assist in their insurance needs.
